What is Active Noise Cancellation mode?
With Active Noise Cancellation, outward-facing microphones detect external sounds which your AirPods Pro counter with anti-noise, canceling the external noise before you hear it. Likewise, an inward-facing microphone listens inside your ear for unwanted internal sounds that are also countered with anti-noise.
Why does this matter when using Noopl?
The goal of Noopl is to help you hear more clearly in noise. So, Apple's active Noise Cancellation technology helps stop external noise from reaching your ears, making the Noopl more effective.
How do I know if my AirPods Pro are in Active Noise Cancellation mode?
The current mode can be seen (and changed) in the Control Center volume settings as well as in the Bluetooth settings for your AirPods Pro.
Here's another way to toggle between Transparency and Noise Cancellation modes fairly easily. With both of your AirPod Pros inserted into your ears, press and hold the force sensor on the stem of either AirPod Pro until you hear a chime. Once you recognize the different chimes, you will know if you have changed into Active Noise Cancellation or Transparency mode.
